Ellie walked down the hallway to meet her new partner in research. Rumor had it they weren't a human and that excited her. Mythical creatures had been discovered years ago but were kept separate from humans, often even restricted to their own species. She'd been reassigned after her previous partner retired to farming. She'd miss him of course but the woman adored new chances for her mind to explore different things.

Her heart beat faster as the door came into view, eagerness making her sprint the last few feet and slide her ID card fast. She hurried through the door with a bright smile that faded seconds later. The room was large, several tall structures here and there with tanks full of chemicals on them, huge bottles filling the built-in alcove wall shelves. If that didn't cause her mood to sour, the creature standing at the far side of the room sure did.

It had the appearance of an elf with dull blue skin, tribal birthmarks on his cheeks and neck and darker hair cut short and spiked forward. It's glowing yellow eyes were intently reading over a lab report and looking quite tired. The only thing that concerned the human was that fact of, the being was sixty feet tall, leaning over a table. It seemed the door's sound finally processed in it's mind as it gave a glance in her direction, eyes going wider.

"Oh..." It spoke in a low masculine voice, blinking in surprise. "I didn't expect you yet..." He-as she assumed since not all of the mythics could be classified by how they appeared-set the van length sheet of paper down, turning his full attention to her. Ellie turned paler than she already was, the giant taking small steps closer and easily covering the distance of two football fields in two seconds to kneel down infront of her.

She swallowed a lump in her throat and gripped the book in her arms tighter. "I, uh, I like to be early..." Obviously this creature was trustworthy, he wouldn't be here if he wasn't, but she couldn't help but feel an instinctive unease in his presence. A small smile appeared on his humanoid face and he reached a hand out ever so slowly, his index finger pointed to her.

"I'm Jonah..."

She stared at the digit, starting to relax as her brain logiced her instincts into submission. She calmly reached hers out, placing her palm against the pad.

"Ellie... Pleasure to meet your acquaintance." She grinned weakly.
This time with 'The handshake' and lighter plot! :dummy:

Ellie is my essentially altar ego/persona, her full name being an anogram of my own for splurging sake(Didn't want the group to know it was me...). Jonah would be the giant male elf version of J.

J is mine~
